Additional Requirements For BEST Performance

  • In offices with more than 10 phones, a business-grade Internet connection is a Must.
  • In most areas, Cable or Fiber is preferable to DSL.
  • Connecting PCs  through phones in pass through, or a shared LAN is not recommended.
  • Internet and phones may warrant an Uninterruptable Power Supply, if power loss would be an issue.

Internet connection SHOULD be tested to demonstrate the following:

  • Consistent <100ms ping times to portal.nwvox.com
  • Less than 5% packet loss on a ping test of 100 or more packets.
  • Traceroute should not show more than one gateway device present on the network.
  • Phones absolutely cannot be behind a firewall, especially SonicWall devices.

In Call Features

Buddy Watch
This option allows you to see who is currently using their phone  so that you can know who is available to take a call by looking at your phones indicator light or if they are available for a call.

Custom Buttons
This is an option for having hotkeys for specific functions such as dialing a combination of commands for turning on the auto attendant or forwarding a number to an offsite number.

Recording
All calls can be recorded on demand or continuously if you wish.

Do Not Disturb
This feature allows a device to not ring when receiving calls automatically sending them to voicemail if set up.
(DON”T FORGET TO TURN IT OFF!)

Auto Attendant

An automated service that routes calls to specific extensions, voicemails, queues or ring groups within the phones systems.
“a press 1 for…” or “2 for…”

Dial By Name Directory
This option in the auto attendant service locates extensions by a person’s name and routes the call appropriately.

Time of Day Rules
Add time of day rules for “office hours” or “after hours” to respond in different ways. For example, during hours rings the receptionist and after hours rings the auto attendant.

Time Of Day Routing

This allows a phone number to forward a call to a specific destination (phone number or device).

This can be configured for a specified time or on-demand.

Music On Hold & Announcements

Hold Music 
Customize your hold music or add announcements in-between songs.

Ringtones
Select the ringtone you want or customize different ringtones for different numbers that call in.

Voicemail To Email

All NWVOX extensions that have voicemail will send a recording to a designated email account.
